I hope you had a wonderful mother's day. We are still in Florida and spent the day at the pool. My husband and daughter surprised me with an engraved necklace.
This mother's day there was time for reflection (I like to keep things light and positive here, so bear with me for a minute). Before we left, my mom and I had a conversation about my road to motherhood. It wasn't easy. Just as quickly as my beautiful baby came into the world, I found myself back in the hospital fighting a war against septic/toxic shock.
The next week was a blur. Most days were spent surrounded by doctors in ICU. But I never once took my eyes off the "prize." I loved that little girl from the very moment I saw her and there was nothing in the world that could take me from her. My mom said she knew in that moment that I was strong - prepared from motherhood.
I haven't looked back. I can't imagine my life without her and my husband. I have been bless in so many ways, but none more significant than my daughter and my family. Happy mother's day to my mom and all moms. Your role is incredibly important and the world wouldn't be the same without you.
